Jane Manzer

Jane Manzer

Jane moved to the Olympic Peninsula in the spring of 1978 when her husband, Fred, transferred to the Olympic National Park. They fell in love with the area, and raised their 2 sons in Sequim. After living in Nebraska, Montana, Idaho, and eastern Washington, Sequim has become HOME in every sense of the word.

Jane has a varied work and volunteer background in both Sequim and Port Angeles, and a large network of friends and former co-workers. Part of her employment background included work with real estate appraisers and for real estate attorneys, so when she decided to start a new career based in Sequim, real estate was a logical choice. Jane happily joined the McHugh REALTORS family in March of 2007.

“Service to my community has always been very important to me.” Jane began volunteering in elementary classrooms, served as an officer on Helen Haller PTO, was on the middle school advisory council, and was one of the founding officers of the Sequim Schools Athletic Booster Club. Now she devotes her volunteer energy to Soroptimist International of Sequim, an organization that has been providing a myriad of services to Sequim since 1947.

“Millions of people travel to the Olympic Peninsula each year to see the many beautiful sites and take part in all of the recreational opportunities this area offers. I feel truly blessed to be able to call this my home and to share my love of this area. Getting to know visitors and sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm about the Sequim/Port Angeles area with them is a thrill to me. Therein lies my real estate passion.”

Wendey Burwell

receptionist/owner

Jane Manzer

I am a true local. My parents, Dan and Judy Olsen Volkmann (German for “welcome man”) met while attending Port Angeles High School, married, and raised their family in Port Angeles. My childhood was full of camping, fishing, clamming, crabbing, hunting and enjoying our wonderful peninsula.

I met Alan, also a local with similar values and love of the area, and we’ve lived here since we married. We have two beautiful daughters and have carried on the tradition of enjoying the beauty of the Olympic Peninsula through our family activities.

Alan and I bought the business of McHugh, REALTORS® in April of 2005 and I am currently working as the receptionist on a part-time basis. I also work at the William Shore Pool in Port Angeles as a Water Aerobics & Swimming Lesson Instructor. With so much water in the area, it’s very important that people learn to swim and I enjoy teaching them, especially the little ones. Outside of work, my involvement in the community also includes coaching my daughters’ soccer teams and taking on active roles in their school’s parent-teacher organization.

Alan & I both carry our love for people and our area into our work in the real estate world. We want people to feel welcome, whether they are stopping by to ask questions about the area or whether they have specific real estate needs.

You can contact Wendy at: secretary@olypen.com.

Debbi McDermott

Debbi McDermott

I moved to the Olympic Peninsula in 1996 after visiting family in Olympia on vacation. Shortly after our trip my husband and I felt that the area reminded us of our childhood growing up in the beautiful Orange County area of California. We knew this was the place to raise our family.

I started in the Real Estate business in the early 90’s as a way to complement my husbands desire to buy, build and invest in Real Estate. I have developed a great passion for aiding others in also accomplishing some of these same goals. As our personal business grew so has my knowledge and experience which I hope to pass on to my clients.

I have made it a priority to stay up on current events in the market and area growth issues by attending our weekly Association meetings. These meetings consist of guest speakers on many subjects and members who attend outside political and in area meetings. I also keep up on market inventory by viewing properties on weekly tours of new homes on the market.

My personal goal is to stay informed and help our many visitors to enjoy and acquire what I and so many others have here on the Peninsula.
